Derry City have announced the signing of defender Niall Logue for the 2018 League of Ireland season.

Logue had been training with the Candystripes for a number of weeks and had appeared in their friendly match against Finn Harps.

The 22-year-old was once on the books at NIFL club Institute before moving to play college soccer with Yavapai College in Arizona.

He spent the last two seasons with Ohio State University where he started and played in all 19 games during their season making the 2017 Second Team All-Ohio.

The Candystripes travel to The Showgrounds tomorrow night to take on Sligo Rovers (kick-off 7:45pm).
