Cobh Ramblers have announced the signing of Anthony McAlavey just days before they kick off their 2018 SSE Airtricity League First Division campaign.

The 23-year-old striker joins Stephen Henderson’s side after spending the previous three seasons with Waterford. McAlavey was part of the squad that won the First Division and promotion to the Premier Division last season.

“I’m excited to sign for Cobh for the 2018 season. It brings a new challenge which I’m really looking forward to,” McAlvey said speaking to the club’s website.

The Rams begin their season with a trip to City Calling Stadium where they will take on Longford Town on Saturday, 24th February (kick-off 7:30pm).
