Saints sign striker Jake Keegan

St Patrick’s Athletic have announced the signing of striker Jake Keegan.

 

Keegan links up with the Saints for the 2018 Premier Division season pending the approval of his work permit.

 

The American striker returns to the SSE Airtricity League after spending two seasons with NASL side FC Edmonton. The striker made over 60 appearances for the Canadian club before management decided to pull out of the NASL and cease professional operations at the end of the 2017 season.

 

The 26-year-old will be familiar to League of Ireland fans from his time at Galway United. Keegan signed for the newly formed club in 2014 after leaving German side FC Darmstadt.

 

Keegan was a fan favourite at Eamonn Deacy Park scoring 27 goals in 63 appearances for the Tribesmen. The striker was part of the Galway squad the clinched promotion to the Premier Division in 2014, he also appeared in the 2015 EA Sports Cup Final in a losing effort against his new club.

 



The former Tribesman arrives at Richmond Park as Liam Buckley’s men get ready for their season opener against Premier Division Champions Cork City on Friday 16 February.
