Cobh Ramblers have announced the signing of Jack Lynch from Waterford FC.

The young defender agreed terms with The Rams during the week on his 20th birthday.

Lynch moves to St Coleman’s Park off the back of a winning First Division season with Waterford.

“The opportunity to work with Stephen [Henderson] and Stuart [Ashton] made the decision to sign very easy and I’m confident we have the squad to go and challenge for promotion,” Lynch said speaking to cobhramblers.ie.

The defender began his career playing for Limerick FC’s underage teams before moving to Waterford in January 2017 where he was included in the U19 and senior squads, making his First Division debut in a 1-0 win over Shelbourne at the RSC in May.

Lynch faced his former club in his first game as a Rambler in a losing effort against Waterford on Wednesday evening.
