Former Liverpool player Alex O'Hanlon signs for Glentoran

NIFL Premiership side Glentoran have announced the signing of Republic of Ireland under-21 international and former Liverpool player Alex O’Hanlon.

 

The Glens have signed O’Hanlon initially until the end of the NIFL Premiership season.

 

The 21-year-old began his career with St Kevin’s Boys before moving on to the academy at Liverpool.

 

He spent five years at Anfield progressing through the underage ranks but never managing make a senior appearance for the Mersyside club before his departure in 2016.

 

In January of 2017 the midfielder signed for St Patrick’s Athletic but found his playing time limited and left at the conclusion of the Premier Division season.

 



O’Hanlon’s international clearance is complete so he could make his debut during Glentoran’s Irish Cup match against Ballyclare Comrades on Saturday.
