Richie Purdy re-signs for Drogheda United

Drogheda United have further added to their 2018 squad with the announced that midfielder Richie Purdy has signed a new deal with the club.

 

The 20-year-old first signed on loan for the Boynesiders from Shamrock Rovers in 2016 and went on to make 10 league appearances as Drogheda were promoted via the play-offs.

 

Purdy signed a permanent deal with Drogheda ahead of the 2017 Premier Division season and went on to make a further 24 appearances in all competitions for the Louth side.

 

The midfielder had previously played with Rovers at U19 level and spent the second half of the 2015 season on loan at Cabinteely.

 

He returned to Shamrock Rovers for the 2016 season, playing with their U19 side and appearing on the bench for the senior squad before being loaned to Drogheda.

 



Purdy is Drogheda manager Tim Clancy’s twelfth signing for 2018 and the second that the club have announced today with the confirmation earlier that Ciaran Kelly has signed from St. Patrick’s Athletic.
