Defender Colm Deasy signs new deal with Drogheda United

Drogheda United have announced the re-signing of right-back Colm Deasy for the 2018 season.

Deasy joined the Boynesiders ahead of the 2016 First Division season having played for St. Patrick's Athletic’s U19 side in 2015.

The Ireland underage international went on to make 17 league appearances in 2016 - despite missing around two months of the season due to a broken foot - as Drogheda were promoted to the Premier Division via the play-off.

Deasy re-signed with Drogheda ahead of the 2017 Premier Division campaign and made 23 appearances in all competitions - 22 in the league and one in cup competition.

The 20-year-old has now put pen to paper for his third season as United Park, now under new manager Tim Clancy, having made 46 appearances for Drogheda since joining in December 2015 ahead of the 2016 season.

Deasy is the fourth player to commit himself to Tim Clancy's side for the forthcoming season after Sean Brennan, Kevin Farragher and Conor Kane signed last week.
