Former Ipswich Town keeper among three Bohs players to sign new deals

Bohemians continue to get their business done early ahead of the 2018 season with the news Shane Supple, Rob Cornwall and Paddy Kavanagh have signed new contracts.

Goalkeeper Supple has signed a new two-year deal in spite of interest from Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers, while Kavanagh and Cornwall have each signed on for another year.

Former Ipswich Town stopper Supple signed for Bohs from amateur side Crumlin United ahead of the 2016 season.

The 30-year-old came through the youth system at Ipswich and made his debut for the Tractor Boys at the age of 18 before going on to rack up 34 appearances.

He spent time on loan with Falkirk and Oldham Athletic but abruptly retired in 2009 in order to return to Ireland and play Gaelic football.

23-year-old centre half Cornwall joined from Shamrock Rovers at the beginning of last season, having joined them in 2013 from Shelbourne.

Cornwall quickly established himself as a regular in Keith Long's defensive unit and made 29 league appearances in total during the season.

31-year-old winger Kavanagh returns to Dalymount Park for a fifth successive season after putting pen to paper on a one-year extension.

The former UCD, Birmingham City, Bray Wanderers and Shelbourne winger won two league titles with Shamrock Rovers in 2010 and 2011.

Their signatures bring to six the number of players signed up for the senior squad next season, with midfielders Fuad Sule and defender Warren O'Hora already committed.
