Former Pats and Sligo striker Mark Quigley signs for Sheriff YC

Former St Patrick's Athletic and Sligo Rovers striker Mark Quigley has signed for AUL Premier A champions Sheriff YC.

The 31-year-old was training with the club in pre-season, and scored in a Tommy Clements Cup game against St Paul's Artane, and has now been included in the squad for the new AUL season.

The Dubliner has been without a club since parting company with Bohemians at the end of the 2016 season, though he has been at East Wall Bessborough in a coaching capacity.

Former Millwall trainee Quigley won a Premier Division title while at Sligo and an FAI Cup title with Pats, while he also picked up the PFAI Player of the Year gong in 2012.

Dundalk also spent time with Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers and Derry City in between two stints with the Gypsies during an 11-year career in the League of Ireland.

Quigley is the latest former League of Ireland star to make a return to amateur football, with ex-international Keith Fahey recently helping Bluebell United to the FAI Cup quarter-finals.
