Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers to renew rivalry in FAI Cup semi-final draw

League champions Dundalk will face Shamrock Rovers in a knock-out game for the second time in three weeks when they host the Hoops in the semi-final of the FAI Cup on October 1st.

The sides face off this Saturday in the EA Sports Cup final at Tallaght Stadium with the season's first silverware up for grabs but they won't have to wait long to renew acquaintance.

Oriel Park will bear witness to two of the league's form sides in the league's traditional Sunday afternoon timeslot, with kick-off scheduled for 4.45pm.

The last time the two met, at Oriel Park in July, Rovers ran out 1-0 winners thanks to Gary Shaw's early goal.

In the other semi-final, the holders Cork City will host Limerick in the Munster derby at Turner's Cross on Friday, September 29th with a kick-off time of 7.15pm.

The sides have already met three times this season – twice in the league and once in the EA Sports Cup – with City winning on each occasion.

Both games will be shown live on RTÉ2.
