Saints striker Aidan Keena signs for Scottish Premier League side Hearts

Scotish Premier League side Heart of Midlothian have announced the signature of youngster Aidan Keena from St Patrick's Athletic.

 

18-year-old Keena has been on the books of the Saints for two years since joining from cross-city rivals Shelbourne.

 

While at the club, the Mullingar native made five appearances for the Inchicore club's senior side, scoring one goal in the process.

 

After impressing with the under-19s, Keena was promoted to Liam Buckley's first team, where he made his debut for the club in the opening day defeat to Bray Wanderers at Richmond Park.

 

His final appearance for Pats came at home against Bohemians as the Saints were beaten by three goals to one in a Dublin derby, falling away in the second half against their cross city rivals.

 



As per the Hearts website, Keena join up with his new teammates and be drafted into the development squad for training ahead of the Jambos' Edinburgh derby clash against Hibernian at Oriam on Tuesday afternoon.
