League Report: Limerick 1 - 0 Bohemians

The boos for Limerick after their mid-week defeat were put in the past as they beat Bohs 1-0 on Saturday night at Markets Field to move four points clear of the dangerzone.

Rodigo Tosi was the match winner on his return to the starting line up after the 2-0 home defeat to Shamrock Rovers on Tuesday. Tosi scored his 11th league goal of the season to earn Limerick their only win in their last six Premier Division games.

Bohs were hoping to keep pressure on Bray Wanderers above them in fifth position in the table but their Saturday night loss leaves them only two points clear of Limerick in seventh place, and comes after their late extratime loss in the FAI Cup in Finn Park last week.

The Gypsies paid the penalty in the first half, conceding an early spot kick from Tosi in the tenth minute which was won by the Brazilian. They then missed one of their own later in the half.

Georgie Poynton was the hero for Bohs from the penalty spot when they inflicted Cork City’s first league loss of the season late last month. However he couldn’t convert just before half time with Limerick ‘keeper Brendan Clarke saving the spot kick diving to his left.
