Derry City accept offer for Ronan Curtis from Swedish side Ostersunds

Derry City have accepted an undisclosed fee for Ronan Curtis from Swedish side Östersunds FK, according to reports.

The Derry winger has been linked with a number of clubs after scoring six goals this season, but now the Foylesiders seem to have accepted an attractive fee for the 21-year-old.

Candystripes manager Kenny Shiels told the Derry Journal earlier this week he wouldn't block any move for the player, but only if it benefited the club.

“Ronan is doing very well, but we don’t stand in the way of any player who may get a chance to play at a higher level,” said Shiels.

“That’s the club policy and has been for a number of years.

“He has been an excellent player for us this season but if we lose him, as long it’s in the best interests for both the club and the player, then I’ll be happy enough.”

The move now relies on Curtis, who must decide if he is to make the near 2,000 mile move when he flies to Sweden tomorrow.
