League Preview: Cabinteely -v- Waterford

Fourth placed Cabinteely FC host table toppers Waterford FC at Stradbrook in the SSE Airtricity League First Division (Kick-Off 7.45pm)

CABINTEELY FC

Cabinteely welcome the league leaders to Stradbrook in the midst of an impressive four game unbeaten run of form, scoring victories over Cobh Ramblers and Shelbourne at home and local rivals UCD at the UCD Bowl last week.

Kieran Marty Waters will be looking to add onto his 11 goal tally over the season so far. Marty Waters is second in the goalscoring charts and is only behind top scorer Georgie Kelly by two goals.

Last time Cabo had an encounter with Waterford FC, they were beaten well by three goals. However, Waterford couldn't find a way past a solid Cabinteely defence at Stradbrook earlier this season with the score ending at 0-0.

Christian Lotefa is in line to make his return to the matchday squad after serving a suspension for an accumulation of yellow cards.

No team news have been released yet but Peter Durrad is unexpected to be involved with Durrad still nursing the effects of a concussion injury.

WATERFORD FC

Waterford FC make the trip to the capital on the back of 3-1 victory at home to bottom side Athlone Town and will be looking to extend their 9 point lead at the top of the table.

It is widely expected that new signing Paddy Barrett, who is a loan recruit from Premier Division side, will make his third debut for the club following two loan periods and a permanent one. In his previous spells at the club he made 39 appearances, scoring 3 goals.

On top of this, new deadline day signing Aaron Drinan from fellow Munster rivals Cork City could play some role in the matchday squad.

Under-17 striker Colm Whelan has made the step up to the first team following his promotion by manager Alan Reynolds and may be involved in the game in some capacity.

However, the defensive pairing of Robin Dempsey and Gary Delaney will take no part in the game as they have left the club following the closure of the transfer window.

Mark O'Sullivan, who is still nursing a back injury is to miss out alongside long term injured midfielder Sander Puri. Puri is expected to be back in the squad in the next few weeks after injury.

Kenny Browne, Davy McDaid and Anthony McAlavey are serving suspensions for yellow cards and will have to sit out this clash.
