With the deadline for League of Ireland clubs to sign under-contract professionals set to close tonight - Monday, July 31st, we bring you all the latest news as it happens.

 

Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley will look to strengthen ahead of the run-in in the battle for European football as Roberto Lopes looks set for a spot on the sidelines.

 

In Sligo, Bit o' Red boss Gerard Lyttle is looking to bring in a few new faces before the window closes.

 

Remember, the deadline for signing out-of-contract professionals runs until the end of August so there's plenty more business to be done before the end of the season.

St Patrick's Athletic have announced the signing of midfielder Paul O'Conor following his release by Limerick.

 

29-year-old O'Conor was signed ahead of the 2015 season by former manager Martin Russell but has been deemed surplus to requirements by new boss Neil McDonald.



 

“He became available – surprisingly became available – last week from Limerick so we made a couple of enquiries on it," said Saints boss Liam Buckley.

Shamrock Rovers have confirmed the addition of two more signings to their first team squad with Dean Carpenter and Darren Clarke joining from Leinster Senior League side Collinstown.

 

The duo have been training with Rovers since July and both played in Rovers’ recent friendlies against Celtic and Burnley.

 

"[Dean] can play left sided centre-back, he can play left- back and he can play wing back as well so he gives us options," said Stephen Bradley.

“He's been excellent for Galway this year and we're delighted to get him. He'll be a real asset to us," said Hoops boss Stephen Bradley.

Waterford have announced that defenders Robin Dempsey and Gary Delaney have left the club by mutual consent.

 

The pair have decided to try their luck elsewhere following the arrival of defenders Paddy Barrett and Sean Heaney on loan from Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers respectively.

Galway United have signed striker Jonah Ayunga on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion until the end of the 2017 season.

 

The 20-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan with Sligo Rovers but now makes the short trip across to Galway with Vinny Faherty heading in the opposite direction.

Waterford have secured the loan signing of defender Paddy Barrett from Dundalk until the end of the season.

 

The Déise native returns for a third spell with his hometown club having spent the past 18 months with Stephen Kenny's league champions.

Sligo Rovers have announced the signing of striker Vinny Faherty from Galway United until the end of the season.

 

The Galway native makes the short trip across Connacht having struggled for gametime under new Galway boss Shane Keegan.

Derry City have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old goalkeeper Tom McDermott on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

 

The Strabane native began his career in the Dungannon Swifts youth setup, before earning a move to North London to join Tottenham Hotspurs in 2014 (read more here).

Sligo Rovers have announced the signing of Northern Irish winger Jamie McDonagh from Scottish Championship side Greenock Morton.

 

The 21-year-old has opted to cut short his time in Scotland in order to move closer to his young family in Ireland and has provisionally signed until the end of the 2017 season.

Sligo Rovers have announced the signing of striker Greg Moorhouse from Glenavon after agreeing a fee with the Lurgan club.

 

The 23-year-old former Crumlin United striker had been due to sign with Coventry City but the English side couldn't settle on a price.

Stephen Bradley hasn't given up on making Aaron Greene a Shamrock Rovers player before Monday night's deadline for signing contracted professionals.

 

The Dubliner – who spent a season at Tallaght Stadium in 2012 – is one of a number of players who want away from the unstable Wicklow club before close of business today.

 

“We made a bid for Aaron Greene, a second bid, so I'm not sure how Bray will respond to it,” Bradley said (read more here).

Dundalk have confirmed the departure of 29 year old forward Ciaran Kilduff as he takes up a position in the United States with NASL club Jacksonville Armada.
