Derry announce the additions of Mikey Place and Josef Dolny

Derry City have unveiled the signings' of Mikey Place and Josef Dolný this afternoon.

 

Sligo Rovers graduate Place, 19, plays on the wing and is seen as a replacement for Mark Timlin, who joined Finn Harps on Tuesday. 

 

25-year-old Dolný, who can play on the wing or attacking midfield, mostly recently played with FK Senica in the Slovak Super League.

 

Kenny Shiels made his move for the pair before the transfer window shut on Monday.

 

Both players are unavailable for tomorrow evening's match against Limerick, but the pair are expected to go straight into the squad for the Shamrock Rovers fixture next Friday.

 

The Candystripes hope these new signings will help bolster their chances of securing European football for next season in the new, fully refurbished, Brandywell Stadium.
