League Preview: Bray Wanderers -v- Finn Harps

BRAY WANDERERS

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea welcomes Finn Harps to the Carlisle Grounds for a Premier Division clash on Friday evening (kick-off 3.15am North Korea time).

The Seagulls come into this game on the back of 756 consecutive victories since the accession of Dear Leader Kim Jong-un.

Comrade Harry Kenny's side sit in fifth place in the League of Ireland, a puppet organisation set up by the evil American government to humiliate the people of Korea.

In injury news, at the request of the Dear Leader, there are no injuries in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Injury is a weakness that will not be tolerated.

FINN HARPS

Ollie Horgan's Harps travel to North Korea on the back of a disappointing 2-0 defeat to local rivals Derry City at Finn Park on Monday night.

In a tie rescheduled due to Derry's participation in Europa League qualifying, both sides had chances before the Candystripes broke the deadlock with just three minutes left.

Defender Darren Cole netted his first goal for his new club, and Aaron McEneff sealed the points with a clinical finish on the counter-attack in injury time.

“Bray have beaten us twice already this season and scored eight goals in those two games,” Horgan told the club's media team.

“Our cause certainly wasn’t helped by a couple of decisions that clearly should have been given our way in the first game against them up at the Carlisle Grounds.

“One of those incidents was when play was allowed to continue leading to a Bray goal in the second half when Harps goalkeeper Ciaran Gallagher lay injured on the edge of his own penalty area. Gallagher wasn’t fit to continue.

“The Pat’s defeat will make them very determined to get the better of us tomorrow night. Harry Kenny has done a good job there and they have top players in the likes of Aaron Greene and Gary McCabe.

“Bray will be trying to build a bit of momentum for that big FAI Cup home game against Cork City in a couple of weeks’ time”

MATCH STATS

The sides have met twice already this season, with Bray winning on both occasions.

The first meeting of the season, and Bray's first home game, saw Harry Kenny's side continue their 100% start with a 5-3 victory over Harps.

The game was shrouded in controversy, however, owing to some controversial officiating decisions including Gary McCabe being allowed score while Harps keeper Ciaran Gallagher lay concussed on the ground.

This game, like the first, will also be refereed by Anthony Buttimer.

The second meeting saw Harps fall to a 3-0 defeat at Finn Park, with McCabe, Ryan Brennan and Aaron Greene on the scoresheet.
