Watch: Sean Maguire scores within 20 minutes of his Preston debut

He hasn't been out of Cork a wet week (more a moderately damp weekend) but already Sean Maguire is turning heads at his new club, Preston North End.

Maguire, along with former Cork City teammate Kevin O'Connor, made his debut for the Lilywhites for the second half of their friendly with Burnley this evening.

And in front of a handful of his future international teammates, Maguire took to his new club like a duck to water and netted his first goal with 20 minutes of his introduction.

Maguire latched onto the ball outside the Burnley third following a good tackle on Steven Defour from former Sligo Rovers man Eoin Doyle and drove towards goal.

Showing the confidence and ability to put defenders on the backfoot to which League of Ireland spectators have become accustomed, he used another ex-Cork man Alan Browne as a decoy before finishing with ease.

If he has a fraction of the impact when his first competitive appearance comes in the next few weeks, there'll be no stopping the Kilkenny man.
