Wexford sign midfielder Adam O'Rourke

Wexford have announced the signing of midfielder Adam O’Rourke.

The Kerry native has played for Dingle Bay Rovers and has also represented Kerry District League in the Oscar Traynor Cup.

There are just eight games to go in the First Division and the 20-year-old is looking forward to testing himself at this level.

“I couldn’t be happier to sign for Wexford FC,” he told the club's official website.

“I have been training with the lads for the last couple of weeks so I am delighted to finally put pen to paper.

“The boys have been on a great run over the past few weeks and it's clear to see in training that there is a really good squad coming together.

“I’ve always wanted to test myself at this level, so to finally get that chance with Wexford FC is an opportunity I couldn’t turn down and I am already raring to go for next Friday.”

The midfielder is manager Damian Locke's seventh signing of the season following the arrival of Aaron O'Connor, Dean Kelly, Mikey Byrne, AJ Lehane, Conor Dunne as well as Aaron Dobbs on loan from Shamrock Rovers.

O’Rourke goes straight into the squad for Wexford’s clash with Longford Town on Friday night at Ferrycarraig Park (kick-off 8pm).
