Roddy Collins makes first trio of signings as Athlone Town boss

Athlone Town have confirmed the signings of Ian Fletcher, Robert Spelman and Liam McCartan.

 

Fletcher returns to the club from Midlands rivals Longford Town after signing for Alan Mathews at the start of the 2017 season.

 

The midfielder began his career with Athlone’s under-19 side, progressing through the ranks and going on to make over 30 first team appearances for the Midlanders during the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

 

Spelman signs from Galway United where he spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons with the club’s under-19 squad before making his first team debut against the Mayo League in the EA Sports Cup this season.

 

McCartan is a full-back who joins from Limerick after joining the club during 2015.

 



All three players are available for the visit of Shelbourne to Athlone Town Stadium tomorrow night (kick-off 7.30pm).
