Watch: Massey and McEleney on target as Dundalk brush past Galway

Dundalk moved seven points clear in the race for second spot thanks to an easy 2-0 win over Galway United at Oriel Park on Monday night.

In a game moved forward from its scheduled July 14th date to acccommodate preparations for Dundalk's Champions League qualifier against Rosenborg, the Lilywhites never looked troubled.

Stephen Kenny's side took the lead with just 15 minutes on the clock as the Galway defence stood back and admired Dane Massey as he powered a free header past Conor Winn.

And Patrick McEleney wrapped it up just after the hour, sweeping home his third goal in three games from a loose ball in the Galway penalty area.

The Tribesmen remain bottom of the table with 13 games remaining while Dundalk move seven points clear of Bray Wanderers with the same number of games played.
