Kilkenny United appoint former Shelbourne and Raheny manager Casey McQuillan

Kilkenny United have announced the appointment of former Raheny United and Shelbourne Ladies coach Casey McQuillan as their new first team manager.

The club have been managerless since the departure of Pedro Rodrigues in late May, the Portuguese having only taken over from Kevin McLaughlin the previous month.

McQuillan leaves the underage structure at Shelbourne, where he's been the director of ladies' coaching since stepping down as head coach last year.

The Dubliner won the league title while in charge of Raheny United and managed the first team as the women's section of that club merged with Shels.

“We are delighted to have somebody of Casey's ability at the club,” said a statement released by the club.”

Kilkenny remain without a point in 12 games this season. They've scored just three goals in that time – two of them in one game against Galway – and boast a whopper minus-66 goal difference.
