Wexford sign former Waterford United midfielder Aaron O'Connor

Wexford have signed former Waterford United midfielder Aaron O'Connor on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old Waterford native came through the youth system at the RSC after joining the under-19 National League side from local club Waterford Villa in 2014.

He made his Waterford debut as a substitute in a 4-1 home defeat to Wexford Youths in May 2015 and he would go on to make 16 appearances that season, scoring twice.

O'Connor made a further nine appearances in the 2016 season, five of them as a substitute, again scoring twice before being released at the conclusion of the season.

As he wasn't contracted to another League of Ireland side, O'Connor will go straight into the squad for Friday's meeting with Athlone Town at Ferrycarrig Park.
