League Preview: Cobh Ramblers -v- Waterford United

COBH RAMBLERS

Stephen Henderson’s men are still pushing for promotion at the halfway point of the season and the side are on a three game unbeaten streak as they prepare to host bottom of the table Wexford at St. Colman’s Park tonight in the League of Ireland First Division.

The Rams defeated promotion rivals UCD two weeks ago and drew with top of the table Waterford last week meaning they could jump to first place with a win tonight depending on how other results in the division go.

Tonight’s injury worries for Cobh are Cian Kingston, due to an ankle injury, and Karl Caulfield, who is coming close to a return to full fitness.

WEXFORD FC

Things had picked up slightly for Wexford when they defeated Shelbourne two weeks ago for their first win of the season.

However, the south-east side went on to lose 5-0 to Longford Town last week and Damian Locke’s men are set to go into the mid-season break at the bottom of the First Division table.

Tonight Wexford travel to face Cobh Ramblers in an even tougher test, with The Rams still pushing for promotion. Wexford’s squad is also noticeably depleted for tonight’s game.

Damien Locke is without the services of defender Ross Kenny and midfielder Thomas Croke due to suspension while Adam Hanlon, with a hip injury, and Lee Duffy, suffering with a foot injury are also ruled out. Eoin Porter also misses the game on study leave.

Craig Hayes, Dean George and Vinny Quinlan have been drafted in from Wexford’s under-19 squad for tonight’s game.
