Watch: Zambra on the double as Longford Town rout Wexford

Longford Town achieved their biggest win of the season on Saturday with a 5-0 thumping of bottom-placed Wexford at City Calling Stadium.

In what proved to be Alan Mathews' final game in charge, a brace from Dean Zambra and goals from Dylan McGlade, Kevin O'Connor and Kealan Dillon sealed a resounding victory.

McGlade opened the scoring with just three minutes gone as got on the end of a deep cross from the right-wing to finish unopposed at the far post.

Longford had to wait until five minutes from the break to double their lead as Jake Kelly slipped in Gavin Boyne and he picked out Zambra in the centre to score from close range.

Eight minutes after the break it was 3-0 as Kevin O'Connor saw a block fall fortuitously into his path and the midfielder drilled the ball emphatically past Graham Doyle in the Wexford goal.

Zambra added his second of the game, and Longford's fourth, as Dillon's pass was cleverly dummied by former Shelbourne man Boyne and the midfielder slotted home.

Dillon completed the rout 18 minutes from time as he took Kelly's pass on the edge of the box, calmly beat a defender and fired past the beleaguered Doyle.
