League Preview: Drogheda United -v- Bray Wanderers

DROGHEDA UNITED

Bottom of the table Drogheda United will be looking to bounce back from back to back defeats to St Patrick’s Athletic and Cork City.

The Boynesiders were easily beat by St. Pat’s two weeks ago before being on the receiving end of a 5-0 hammering against runaway league leaders Cork on Friday.

Just three points separate the teams sitting between sixth and twelfth in the league. With five of those teams, including Drogheda, currently on 14 points, even a draw would see the Louth side move to eighth in the league.

Drogheda have not released any team news but right back Colm Deasy may again be available on his return from injury. Forward Stephen Elliott was also set to return to training at the weekend.

BRAY WANDERERS

Bray head to Drogheda sitting third in the league, knowing a win would see them move to second should Dundalk lose to Derry this evening.

The Seagulls fell to their fifth defeat of the season against Bohemians on Friday in a game that manager Harry Kenny felt his side should have come away with at least a point from the game.

“We were very disappointed after the defeat to Bohs last Friday night in the Carlisle Grounds, whilst we didn’t play as well as we have been on the night I thought we had enough chances to score and get some points from the game,” Kenny told braywanderersfc.ie.

“Their goalkeeper was in inspired form and saved everything .We now have a quick turnaround and go to Drogheda on Tuesday for another tough game,” Kenny said.

Bray will be without the injured Darragh Noone but both Gary McCabe and Mark Salmon are again available after serving suspensions.

Referee: Graham Kelly.
