Shamrock Rovers announce Burnley friendly

Shamrock Rovers have announced that a July friendly with English Premier League side Burnley F.C for Friday, July 14th, 2017. Kick off 7pm at Tallaght Stadium.

The game will have a 7pm kick off and tickets are now on sale at normal matchday prices; Adults €15, Students & Seniors €10, Children U14 €5.

Burnley will be based in Ireland for six days as part of their pre-season training schedule with the game set to conclude their camp. There will be lots of interest in particular for the Irish Internationals in the Burnley squad including Robbie Brady, Jeff Hendrick, Stephen Ward and Kevin Long.

Speaking about the fixture Burnley manager Sean Dyche told shamrockrovers.ie:

“We’ve decided to stay just outside Dublin, which fitted in with our thinking. “I flew out there myself to have a look and it’s a great facility, which is the key.

“It’s a bit closer to home and we’re going to link up with a game at the end of the week which is good for our fans should they want to come over.

“It’s a change from the norm. We don’t want to go too far away from our thinking here because we’ve got this new (training) facility which is fantastic.

“But pre-season is a long period and it’s good to get the lads away where everyone is together for five or six days and you get that little bit of bonding work, as well as the physical and tactical and technical work.”

Tickets are available online at http://shamrockrovers.ie/match-tickets/ with a special offer available for Shamrock Rovers members and season ticket holders.

The friendly seems to be a puzzling one for Hoops fans as the game is 24 hours after the Europa League, Second Qualifying Round first leg, so fans might expect a weakened team if they manage to progress that far.
