Bradley pleased to see things clicking into place after latest win

Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley thanked the Hoops fans for their “unbelievable” support after their 2-0 Dubin Derby win away to Bohemians on Friday night.

Two first half strikes from Brandon Miele and Trevor Clarke secured all three points for Rovers, who were playing in front of a sold-out crowd at Dalymount Park, and Bradley was glowing in his praise for the fans after the game.

“Our fans were unbelievable”, said the Hoops boss. “They've been unbelievable to us all year, even when we've lost they've been good.

“One of the Bohs board members said to me before the game there were still people outside asking for tickets. It's great to hear that at a League of Ireland game it's sold out.”

The atmosphere in the ground, on what could be the final Dublin Derby, was an intimidating cauldron of noise as Rovers stepped out to tip off for the first half, but taking just six minutes to open the scoring, they executed their gameplan perfectly according to Bradley.

“Our aim was to start quick, start with our energy, start with our legs”, he said.

“We had to get our attacking players in the game as quickly as possible, but I thought we did that and we looked really dangerous going forward with every chance.”

In recent Rovers performances, particularly in the last two games against the Gypsies and defending champions Dundalk, there has been a real cutting edge about the side going forward that hasn't been present thus far, but Bradley credits this to the players working together and familiarising themselves with the style of play.

“They're now understanding how we want to play, and what positions to take up when the ball is in certain areas”, Bradley noted, before adding that for the first goal “maybe a few months ago Brandon runs to the back post and doesn't get that goal, so they're starting to understand the little things.

“It's going to take time, and people are starting to see little bits now, but we're still not there yet.”

Bradley also praised man of the match Graham Burke for his performance, not just for his attacking but for a grinding defensive performance in the second half when the home side were in the ascendency.

“He was excellent, he's so dangerous on the ball and he's been really good”, he said.

“He's got a free role to go and make overloads anywhere on the pitch that he sees it, and even in the second half when it was a messy game, players like him can sometimes go missing, but he doesn't.

“He digs in for the team and does what he has to do.”

With an away game against fourth place Derry City to come next week the focus for Bradley now is solely on the next game.

“We need to aim for the next team in front of us”, he said.

“If we beat Derry then we'll see where it takes us, but we're not getting carried away. It's two wins,
