Watch: Cawley wonderstrike earns Galway a point in Limerick

A goal of the season contender from midfielder David Cawley earned bottom-placed Galway United a vital point away to in-form Limerick at the Markets Field on Friday night.

Limerick led from the first half through Robbie Williams and appeared to be on course for a third straight league win before Cawley burst the net five minutes from time.

Blues wingers Chiedozie Ogbene and Chris Mulhall were denied early on by Galway keeper Ciaran Nugent, while Ronan Murray forced a save from Brendan Clarke at the other end.

And the deadlock was broken near the end of the first half, however, as the experienced defender Williams glanced a header past Nugent from Lee-J Lynch's superb free kick delivery.

Bastien Hery had a good chance to double the lead for Willie Boland's side after the break, and he was made pay for his profligacy when Cawley levelled in the dying stages.
