Watch: Maguire on the double as City down the Hoops

Sean Maguire struck twice as Cork City endured a second-half onslaught to take all three points in atrocious conditions at Tallaght Stadium.

Maguire opened the scoring in bizarre circumstances after seven minutes as Rovers keeper Tomer Chencinski prevented the ball running out for a corner only to gift the striker an open goal.

Graham Burke – making his second appearance after being sent off on his debut against Dundalk – scored his second for the club from the spot after ex-Hoop Conor McCormack handled.

Rovers dominated possession in the second-half, and hit the bar through Burke late on, but paid for their lack of accuracy as Maguire fell under Dave Webster's challenge three minutes from time.
