Watch: Sligo and Pats open their accounts with draw

Two of the league's surprise early-season strugglers, Sligo Rovers and St Patrick's Athletic, shared the points in a 1-1 draw at the Showgrounds on Friday night.

Kieran Sadlier put the hosts in front ten minutes before the interval directly from a free-kick after Pat Cregg had been booked for a poor lunge on John Russell.

The visitors emerged for the second half renewed and hit the crossbar through JJ Lunney before Michael Barker evened the tie with a first-time volley from the edge of the box.

Sadlier and Barker each had chances to double their team and individual tallies before the end, and Gavin Peers headed over, as both teams picked up their first points of the year.
