Watch: Davy McDaid's brace helps Waterford to first win of the season over Cabo

Waterford secured their first victory of the season as they ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over Cabinteely at the RSC.

Pat Fenlon's side bounced back from the shock opening day defeat at Athlone Town thanks to a brace from Davy McDaid and man of the match Anthony McAlevey's long-range drive.

McDaid broke the deadlock within four minutes as he found space between Cabo's centre-half pairing to nod home Kenny McEvoy's right-wing cross.

Marty Waters bent a free kick wide for Cabo and Sander Puri shot over the bar for Waterford before McAlevey's curling shot from the edge of the box left goalkeeper Michael Kelly with no chance.

Former Waterford player Evan Galvin headed just wide for the visitors before McDaid latched onto Mark O'Sullivan's pass and shot past Kelly to wrap up the win just before the hour-mark.
