Watch: Katie McCabe fires Ireland to victory over Wales at Cyprus Cup

The Republic of Ireland have topped their group at the Cyprus Cup without conceding a goal thanks to a 1-0 win over Wales in their final group game in Paralimni this afternoon.

Arsenal's Katie McCabe scored the only goal of the game after 20 minutes as Colin Bell's Girls in Green emerged from the winner-takes-all clash on top of Group C with seven points.

The former Shelbourne Ladies winger popped on the end of a long ball over the top from Diane Caldwell before firing the ball into the roof of the Welsh net to hand Ireland the ideal start.

Bell handed a first senior international start to Wexford Youths' Claire O'Riordan up front, while Denise O'Sullivan and Emma Byrne returned having sat out Friday's 0-0 draw with Hungary.

And the changes did little to upset the side's rhythm as they kept their third clean sheet in three games, having beaten the Czech Republic 2-0 in the opening game on Wednesday.
