Watch: Flood returns to haunt Saints as Bray claim opening day win

Goals in either half from new signings Anto Flood and Gary McCabe sent Bray Wanderers on their way to an impressive 2-1 win over St Patrick's Athletic at Richmond Park on Friday night.

In a reverse of January's Leinster Senior League tie, which the Saints won 4-0 at the Carlisle Grounds, the Seagulls dominated proceedings and took a deserved lead early in the first half.

Flood, who scored ten times for the Saints as they lifted the league title in 2013, tapped home from close range after Dylan Connolly had robbed Michael Barker wide on the left.

Conor Kenna had a shot cleared off the line before Flood turned provider and teed up McCabe to dispatched a well-placed shot past former Shamrock Rovers teammate Barry Murphy.

Former Seagull Graham Kelly halved the arrears ten minutes from time after he was played in by 17-year-old Aidan Keena and capitalised on some poor Bray defence.

An aggressive injury-time challenge from Keena saw the teenager sent off, while Darren Dennehy was also singled out for a red card in the subsequent melee although other escaped unpunished.
