Drogs sign Shane Elworthy from St Patrick's Athletic

Drogheda United have announced the signing of versatile defender Shane Elworthy from St. Patrick’s Athletic.

The 19-year-old Irish underage international began his career at St Kevin’s Boys.

After progressing through the ranks at St Kevin’s, Elworthy joined the youth set up at Fulham, playing for the London side from 2013 until 2016.

In 2016, Elworthy returned to Ireland, joining St. Pats under 19 side before being involved with Liam Buckley’s first team during pre-season.

However, the versatile defender who can play at centre-back and at full-back has now signed for Pete Mahon’s Drogheda United ahead of the start of the season this Friday.
