Limerick sign defender Thomas Robson on loan from Sunderland

Limerick have announced the loan signing of defender Thomas Robson from English Premier League side Sunderland.

Manager Martin Russell has bolstered the First Division champions' defence with the signing of the 21-year-old left back ahead of their return to the top division.

Robson is an academy graduate of the underage system at the Stadium of Light and he made his Premier League debut last May, against Watford, under former Limerick manager Sam Allardyce.

He hasn’t managed a first team appearance this season but the defender has been appeared 15 times for the club’s under-23 side.

This signing comes just days before the Premier Division kicks off on Friday as the Super Blues host Sligo Rovers at Markets Field.
