Derry City have announced the signing of Charlton Athletic striker Mikhail Kennedy on a five-month loan deal.

Kennedy, who is originally from Derry, made his debut for the League One side in August 2015.

The striker has also had a loan spell with VCD Athletic of the Isthmian League.

The 20-year-old netted has seven times in his last three appearances for the Addicks, two of which came in the Premier League Cup on Monday night against Middlesbrough.

Derry City also signed Nicky Low on loan from Dundee last month after losing a number of key players in recent months.

The Candystripes start their league campaign against Bohemians next Friday, February 24th, as they look to kick-start their busy season in the Premier Division and the Europa League.
