Dundalk sign Everton winger Steven Kinsella on season-long loan

Everton winger Steven Kinsella has signed a season-long loan deal with Dundalk.

18-year-old Kinsella spent the second-half of last season with St. Patrick’s Athletic where he was a team mate of fellow recent additions at Oriel Park Jamie McGrath and Séan Hoare.

Softening the blow felt by the departure of Daryl Horgan has been something that Stephen Kenny has concentrated on this winter, with McGrath being one of those signed to fill the void created by the Galweigan’s departure.

Dubliner Kinsella adds yet another flanking option to the Dundalk manager who has also been linked with adding former Derry City and Celtic winger Paddy McCourt to his Lilywhites set-up.

The addition of the Everton youngster could prove to be another masterstroke by Kenny with the ability to get the best out of young players a trend during his domestic managerial career.

Kinsella will be part of the Dundalk squad who jet off to Spain for a training camp tomorrow as the Lilywhites step up their league preparations with a friendly against Espanyol’s B team on Thursday.
