Watch: Bohemians pay tribute to Dalymount ahead of final season

Bohemians have produced a video paying tribute to their Dalymount Park home as its enters its final season before being demolished and refurbished as a proposed 10,000-seater stadium.

 

Narrated by the club's 'poet-in-residence' Lewis Kenny, the video utilises old and new footage of the iconic ground, including some of the legends like Pele, Bobby Charlton and Jackie Jameson told have caressed its turf.

 

The 'Home of Irish Football' has been in continuous use by the club since 1901, when Pisser Dignam's Field was taken over by the club and developed as their first permanent ground.

 

The first competitive tie to the be played at the ground saw the Gypises host Dublin rivals Shelbourne, a game the hosts won 4-2 as Harold Sloan scored the first-ever goal at the venue.

 

The stadium has played hosts to some of Irish football's biggest international games, having been the regular home of the senior men's team from 1903 up until the 1980s, and hosted European giants like Manchester United.
