Longford Town sign Dean Zambra and Galway United duo

Longford Town have announced the signings of midfielder Dean Zambra, striker Enda Curran and defender Stephen Walsh ahead of the 2017 First Division season.

 

Zambra joins having spent seven years at Bray between 2008 and 2014. The 28-year-old was a regular for The Seagulls, starting all 33 games in the 2014 season, but has been a free agent since last season

 

Former Derry City and Athlone Town striker Enda Curran and defender Stephen Walsh both sign from Galway United.

 

Striker Curran scored one in five appearances after joining Galway midway through the 2015 season, before going on to score 16 goals in two-and-a-half years at Deacy Park.

 

Versatile defender Walsh helped Tommy Dunne’s Tribesman gain promotion from the First Division in 2014 and to to reach the EA Sports Cup Final in 2015.

 



The trio brings the number of new additions at the City Calling Stadium to ten, with a further seven having re-signed from last season.

 

Longford have a packed pre-season schedule playing five friendlies against Bray, Sligo, Finn Harps, Bohemians and St Pat’s before they begin their bid for promotion against Shelbourne at home on the 24th.
