Killian Brennan signs for Drogheda United

Drogheda United have announced the signing of Killian Brennan ahead of the 2017 Premier Division season.

The Drogheda-born midfielder began his League of Ireland career with Dublin City in 2004 before moving to Derry City, winning an FAI Cup and back-to-back League Cups in his spell with the Candystripes.

Brennan moved to Bohemians in November 2007 and would go on to make 122 league appearances in his four and a half years at the club. During that spell, Brennan scored 29 league goals while also winning back-to-back league titles in 2008 and 2009, his second FAI Cup in 2008 and a third League Cup in 2009.

He then rejoined former manager Stephen Kenny at Bohs' Dublin rivals, Shamrock Rovers, ahead of the 2012 season before moving to St. Patrick's Athletic the following season, picking up his third league title medal in 2013.

Brennan remained with St. Pats for a further two seasons, winning the FAI Cup in 2014 and the EA Sports Cup in 2015, in what would be his final season with the Saints.

Brennan returned to Shamrock Rovers in 2016, signing a two year deal with the Hoops. However, his stay would be cut short as he left the club by mutual consent in October, despite having a year remaining on his contract.

He has now signed for Pete Mahon's newly promoted Drogheda United, joining brothers Sean and Gavin at their hometown club ahead of the 2017 Premier Division season.
