Cobh Ramblers announce friendly schedule

Cobh Ramblers have announced details of some pre-season friendlies. In all, the SSE Airtricity First Division outfit plan to play five matches in preparation for the forthcoming 2017 campaign.

Already confirmed is a game against local rivals Cobh Wanderers, who are currently second in the Munster Senior League Premier Division. That encounter is scheduled for Tuesday 24th January at 7.45 p.m. in St. Colman’s Park. The match is in aid of local charity Cobh Playground Fundraising.

Premier Division Galway United will also visit St. Colman’s Park just days in advance of the new term. Shane Keegan’s charges will line-up against the Ramblers on Saturday 18th February – kick off at 5.00pm. Cobh and Galway also played a pre-season friendly last year in a game which took place in the Fota Island Resort.

Cobh Ramblers will announce the specifics of two further friendlies soon.

Ramblers also expect to shortly release full details of the opening match in the defence of their Munster Senior Cup trophy. Stephen Henderson’s men have been drawn against 2016 SSE Airtricity League First Division champions Limerick. That quarter-final meeting will be at St. Colman’s Park and the winners will be away to Wilton Utd. or Waterford.
