Keith Buckley signs for Bray Wanderers

Bray Wanderers have made their first fresh acquisition of the off-season as they welcome former Bohemians midfielder Keith Buckley to the Carlisle Grounds.

24-year-old Buckley joins 13 players who have been retained from last season's Seagulls squad as Harry Kenny looks to build a side that can challenge for Europe next season.

The versatile midfielder spent six-and-half years at Dalymount Park after joining from renowned schoolboy nursery in the north inner city, Belvedere.

He made an instant impression on the Bohemians by scoring a goal in his first Dublin Derby, a 1-1 draw with Shamrock Rovers at Dalymount Park, and captained the side on a number of occasions.

Buckley made 33 appearances in all competitions during 2016, starting 29 times in the league as Bohs finished a disappointing eighth in the Premier Division.

He joins captain Conor Kenna, Ryan Brennan, Peter Cherrie, Tim Clancy, Dylan Connolly, Hugh Douglas, Alan Kehoe, Jason Marks, Karl Moore, Darragh Noone, Ger Pender, Mark Salmon and John Sullivan in the squad for 2017.
