Ethan Boyle re-signs with Finn Harps

Finn Harps have announced that versatile midfielder Ethan Boyle has re-signed for the club ahead of the 2017 season.

Wexford-born Boyle made the move to Ballybofey from Waterford United at the beginning of last season and quickly established himself in the newly-promoted Harps side playing as both a midfielder and wing back.

Boyle made 30 appearances in all competitions in 2016, including 24 league starts, and scored his only goal for the club in the league cup win over Cockhill Celtic in March.

Harps secretary John Campbell said: “The club is delighted that a player of Boyle’s quality will be part of the senior squad for the 2017 season which starts at the end of February.”

The 19-year-old has appeared three times for the Republic of Ireland at under-19 level, having made his debut against Ukraine in October of 2015.

Boyle is the fifth player to be contracted to Harps ahead of the 2017, joining Ciaran Coll, Gareth Harkin, Ryan McConnell and Danny Morrissey, who arrives from Cork City.
