In Pictures: Extratime.ie Photographers - Best of 2016

Another year is drawing to an end and what a year it has been both on and off the pitch! In terms of ourselves here in Extratime HQ we never cease to be amazed by the talent of a group of people who are often forgotten about amongst all the superb work of our writers and their articles. Yes, we are talking about the team of Extratime Photographers.

Our photographers are the people who don't get to huddle together in a cosy press box or hide from the rain under a roof, or oftenimes even manage to enjoy the benefits of the tearoom. Instead they choose the path of a rainsoaked pitch, a freezing cold Carlisle Grounds or a muddy patch on the side of a non-league ground.

This season has seen our photographers photograph from St Colman's Park all the way up to Donegal and then all the way across to the best of stadiums that Euro 2016 had to offer. And let's not forget we have yet to miss an international or domestic match at the Aviva Stadium since the stadium opened back in 2010.

The following photos show League of Ireland footballers, managers as well as International action alongside many fan pics. Our photographers manage to capture the anguish of defeat, the joy of winning, the pain of a tackle, the joy of fans at Euro 2016, that uncontroably feeling of ecstasy when you beat BATE 3-0, the amazing moment when the shaving foam is sprayed by a match official. Or, lest we forget, that moment that Robbie Brady stuck the ball in the Italian net and Martin O'Neill lept ten feet off the ground as the stadium bounced around him.

Phographers Tom Beary, Al Robinson, Peter Fitzpatrick, Larry McQuillan, Eoin Smith, Jimmy McElroy, Eddie Lennon, Michael P Ryan, Laszlo Geczo and Steve Alfred are the ones that make up the below slideshow.
