Ollie Horgan Extends Harps Stay

Finn Harps FC have announced that First Team Manager Ollie Horgan has agreed to extend his stay with the Ballybofey outfit until the end of the 2017 campaign.

The extension means that Horgan will spend a fourth season with Harps, having took over the reins at Finn Park in November of 2013.

In 2015, Horgan achieved promotion with Harps, leading his side promotion via the play-off route, beating UCD and this season’s First Division champions Limerick in the process.

2016 has gone somewhat to plan for Horgan and Harps.  With three games remaining, Harps, who look likely to avoid the drop, lie 10th, nine points ahead of Wexford Youths, who have played a game less and currently occupy the Premier Division relegation play-off spot.

The club released the following statement confirming the deal in the wake of Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw with St Patrick’s Athletic at Finn Park:

“Finn Harps Football Club has confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Ollie Horgan, extending his contract as senior team manager until the end of the 2017.  Secretary John Campbell on behalf of the Board of Directors confirmed they were pleased that the deal had been agreed with Horgan based on the continued progress of the first team.  The news comes after the crucial 1-1 draw with St. Patrick’s Athletic in Ballybofey last night.”
