Saints sign Toffees midfielder on loan

St Patrick's Athletic have today announced the signing of Republic of Ireland underage international Steven Kinsella on loan from Everton. 

 

The 17 year old midfielder, who is is the son of former Pat's, Bohemians and Shelbourne defender Alan Kinsella, has signed on a deal running until the end of the season. 

 

Kinsella made his debut for Ireland U17s in September 2013, at the age of just 15, scoring against Gibraltar. Having come through the ranks at Templeogue United, it was Everton who won the race to sign the talented midfielder on scholarship terms in the summer of 2014.

 

Speaking to stpatsfc.com after announcing the signing, Saints manager Liam Buckley said, "Steven will be a great addition to our squad and we're really looking forward to him representing the club.

 

"There is no doubt that Steven has fantastic ability and is a great talent. He has trained with us a little bit and has fitted in well so we're looking forward to seeing him make his first appearance with us soon." 

 



With Kinsella having received international clearance, that first appearance may come come as soon as Monday night as Pats' travel to Wexford Youths.
