St Kevin's Boys Club 7th Academy Cup kicks off

This weekend (April 3rd – 5th) sees the return of one of Europe’s top football tournaments for elite young players. The Academy Cup, now in its 7th year, kicks off on Friday morning at 10am with hosts St Kevin’s Boys taking on Scotland’s Glasgow Celtic.

 

Lord Mayor of Dublin Councillor Christy Burke along with FAI Chief Executive John Delaney and St Kevin’s Boys chairman Michael O’Callaghan will officially open the St Kevin’s Boys Club Academy Cup Tournament at Shanowen Road, Santry.  

 

Benfica from Portugal and Deportivo La Coruna from Spain are sure to have some of the best under 13 football talent in Europe in their ranks when they, along with Arsenal FC winners in 2010 & 2012, Celtic FC winners in 2013, twice runners up West Bromwich Albion FC, and the host Club’s under 13 Premier team line out over the coming days.

 

This strong line-up of teams is sure to provide a great spectacle of top class football as it did last year when Ajax were crowned champions and the Tournament is sure to attract large crowds over the three days of play.

Sunday10:00am   5th/6th Place Playoff; 11.30  3rd/4th Place Playoff; 1.30  Tournament Final

 



Admission to the tournament is €2 per visit for adults - children under 16 FREE
