Gleeson and Peamount United part company

Peamount United have announced that they have parted company with their manager Eileen Gleeson after more than eight years in the role. In that time Gleeson led the club to a FAI Women’s Cup title, two WNL League Cup titles as well as winning the inaugural Women’s National League title in 2011-12.

In the 2011-12 season, Gleeson and her team became the first ever Irish team to qualify for the knock-out stages of a European competition, reaching the last 32 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League where they lost to PSG.

In the most recent WNL season, which ended on the 27^th April, Peamount United finished second to Raheny United, three points behind their Dublin rivals. In the 21 match campaign, the Peas only lost once.     

This year Gleeson, along with Ireland team manager Sue Ronan, became the first women to be selected to participate in the UEFA Pro licence course in Ireland.

It is with regret we must inform you that Eileen Gleeson, the manager of our senior ladies national team and Peamount United FC have parted ways. 

Eileen was an integral part of guiding our senior team to national and international success. Her professional approach and elitism was instrumental in getting our ladies section to where it is today.

We thank Eileen for her full commitment throughout the years and wish her all the best for the future.

We are now actively seeking a replacement to the position of senior manager and intend continuing with more success over the coming seasons.
