Cork City to face Celtic at Turner's Cross

Cork City Football Club have announced that they have secured a friendly with a Glasgow Celtic XI as part of the Cork Airport Friendly Series.

The match, which will be the first time the two clubs have locked horns since back in 2009, will take place on Sunday the 21st of July at Turner’s Cross Stadium.

It is the latest in a string of illustrious friendlies on Leeside over the course of the summer, with City’s relationship with Cork Airport already creating glamour ties with West Ham United, Burnley, and West Bromwich Albion.

Tickets for the game will be on sale from the Cork City club shop in Douglas Village Shopping Centre and from Ticketmaster. Tickets are priced as follows: Adults €15, Juvenile (13-18) €10, Schoolchild (U13) & Senior Citizens €5. Discounted adult and juvenile tickets will be available to FORAS Trustees, CityCard Members and Season Ticket holders, at €13 and €8 respectively.

Under pressure boss Tommy Dunne will view the friendlies as not only of commercial benefit, but as a chance to test his players against top quality opposition in a bid to strengthen their push up the league table.
